Additionally, using harsh shampoos to remove oil buildup can weaken your hair strands, making them prone to breakage. For people with colored or treated hair, this frequent washing can fade hair color or undo treatments.

Instead, use oil sparingly and focus on leave-in conditioners or hair masks that are easier to manage and rinse out.
